Stormwater Demonstration Area located along the side of the Conservation Cabin at the Chemung County Fairgrounds, coordinated by the Stormwater Team, was completed with the help of Boy Scouts from Troop 43, Pine City as an Eagle Scout project of Cody Vohees who worked on the Rain Garden.  The rest of the area was completed with the help of the Chemung County Conservation District.

The Chemung County Stormwater Coalition
was formed in 2002 to address the Phase II Construction Permit requirements for the MS4's in Chemung County.  The chair for the coalition is Andy Avery, P.E. from the Chemung County-City of Elmira Public Works Department; the Co-Chair is Paul Kingsbury from the Town of Elmira. The Outreach/Education Coordinator is Diane Fiorentino; she can be reached at (607) 739-2009.

Contractors, before doing any work or planning of development, please contact the Stormwater Officer  in the municipality where the construction activity will be taking place.

These approved 4 hour training sessions are required for all companies working under NYSDEC's SPDES Stormwater Permit.
