Contractors, before doing any work or planning of development, please contact the Stormwater Officer in the municipality where the construction activity will be taking place.
Construction Activity Training Sessions for Contractors and Developers dealing with Stormwater, Erosion and Sediment Control These approved 4 hour training sessions are required for all companies working under NYSDEC's SPDES Stormwater Permit. Please Note: Beginning on May 1, 2010 the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Construction Activity Permit, GP-0-10-001 requires all developers, contractors and subcontractors to identify at least one trained individual from their company who will be responsible for implementing the Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan. The individuals responsible for installing, constructing, repairing, maintaining or inspecting erosion and sediment control measures or constructing post-construction stormwater management practices at SPDES-permitted construction sites are required to attend this course every three years. The Chemung County Stormwater Coalition will be hosting a CPESC Review Course on Wednesday November 3, 2010. The Instructor for the course will be Donald W. Lake, P.E., CPESC, CPSWQ. Testing for Certification will be Friday November 5, 2010. CPESC is a Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control.
