The Office of Fire and Emergency Management serves as a liaison for, facilitator of training, emergency response information both during an emergency as well as planning, mitigation and recovery from disasters. 
The office administrates various federal and state grants in the areas of emergency response.

In addition, the office manages the County’s 9-1-1 Center.
