Ashland – The Chemung County Department of Public Works and its contractor, Chemung Contracting, will be overlaying CR8, known as the Lowman Crossover, on Monday, June 25, 2012.  To ensure the safety of the workers and provide the best possible final product, CR8 will be closed from 6:30am until 5:30pm on Monday. 

Avery advises motorists to use Exit 59 (SR17/I86) and SR427 as an alternate route.

This overlay will provide a uniform asphalt surface, ensuring the best possible road quality, and extend the life of the roadway another 7-10 years.
