Big Flats- Ann Crook, Manager of the Elmira Corning Regional Airport, announced today Chemung County will be holding a public meeting on Wednesday, March 31, 2010 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM. at the Big Flats Community Center located at 476 Maple Street in Big Flats.   The purpose of the workshop-style public information meeting is to present the Draft Environmental Assessment (EA) which is being completed for the parking lot expansion at the Elmira Corning Regional Airport.

This project would require the acquisition of all or part of three parcels and the realignment of a portion of Sing Sing Road and associated street intersections.

Representatives from the Airport and airport consultants McFarland Johnson, Inc. will be available at the meeting to answer questions and receive comments. The public comment period for this project has been extended to April 15, 2010. Written comments on subject matter to be included in the EA should be sent to:
