Big Flats – Elmira Corning Regional Airport Manager Ann Crook and the staff at the airport wanted to support a local charitable cause during the holidays and have chosen Glove House to be the recipient of the 2008 Giving Tree. The Giving Tree is in the main lobby of the airport and will provide an opportunity for Twin Tiers residents to contribute to a happy holiday season for youth in need in our community.

The tree is hung with donation cards for the Glove House. Even those not travelling by air this season are encouraged to stop by the airport and make a donation. “We are hoping that the giving tree will light up the Elmira Corning Regional Airport for the holidays while also allowing travelers to light up the lives of our children,” said Crook. “The airport serves the transportation needs of the Southern Tier and it seemed appropriated that we partner with Glove House to serve the needs of children of this same region during the holiday season.”

Treahy, President and CEO of Glove House, Inc.  “The donations that are brought in through the airport tree displays will help fund the gifts and holiday meals we give to the kids and families we serve during the holiday season.  We appreciate the support of the airport and the entire community.”

Allegiant Air and SeaWorld Orlando have also teamed up to provide support to Glove House by donating 10 roundtrip tickets from Elmira to Orlando as well as 10 passes to the amusement park.  Glove House will use these donations in an upcoming raffle to support agency programming. The tickets were presented at the airlines ribbon cutting ceremony prior to their inaugural flight November 20, 2008.
